Kyoto

We often create collections inspired by travels to exotic locations, and the Kyoto Collection is no exception. Its four patterns in 23 colorways reflect the subtle and dramatic beauty found in Japan's traditional textiles. For centuries Kyoto has been the center of Japan's textile industry. Exquisite silk fabrics are woven there for use in traditional wear, including the seemingly fragile silk textiles for the kimonos and the heavier fabrics for the wide sash, or obi. Our Kimono pattern has an ikat-like dot pattern, while Obi Stripe is a polished metallic-looking fabric reminiscent of the formal obis. Kiri, a complementary chenille stripe has tone-on-tone and high contrast brighter colorways. Shoji, like its paper screen namesake, is a subtle shimmery texture designed for vertical wallcovering and upholstery use. All four patterns are pass heavy duty abrasion and Kiri, Obi Stripe and Kimono are all bleach cleanable/harsh chemical safe, making them a perfect choice for restaurant and food service areas.
